
Dominic April
Dominic April is a native of Montreal. After high school, he studied graphic design at Algonquin College in Ottawa, where he won the Sports Medicine Council of Canada Graphic Design Award in 1985.
Two years later, he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces with the Royal 22e Régiment where he spent 27 years as an infantryman, during which time he participated in several missions in operational theatres.
Discharged from the army, he trained as a carpenter. His new skills and knowledge of graphic design led him to the blacksmith shop, and he opened his workshop, Atelier du Vieux Corbeau , in 2018.
He has completed several advanced training courses with Romain Francès , master blacksmith. In turn, he passes on his know-how to his apprentices.
Dominic is passionate about creating charitable works.
He lives with his partner Marie-Claude and his daughter Elizabeth and works as a forger in Saint-Raymond in the MRC of Portneuf.
