Culture and Heritage Deschambault-Grondines

Culture and Heritage Deschambault-Grondines is an organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the rich heritage of this Quebec region.

Rooted in a deep and diverse history, Deschambault-Grondines offers a unique insight into rural life and the evolution of Quebec society.

The Moulin de La Chevrotière, a French-inspired building erected in 1802, is the central element of a site of great architectural, heritage and natural interest, at the mouth of the La Chevrotière River, in a former section of the Chemin du Roy.

There is a permanent exhibition entitled "Knowing, doing, lasting: the art of tradespeople."

The themes developed are linked to the traditional trades of wood, iron and stone.

A section of the exhibition also deals, naturally, with the history of the banal mill and that of the seigneurial family, while upstairs, some spaces have been reserved for the history of the navigators and builders of schooners of the Saint-Laurent.
